This is the first time a portable international VHF transceiver comes with a simple AIS receiving function.

The IC-M94DJ (ICM94DJ) is an international VHF transceiver manufactured by Icom. It is a radio device for use at sea, equipped with an international VHF transceiver (output 5W), a simplified AIS reception (CLASS B AIS) function, and a DSC (CLASS H compatible) function all in one unit. A third-class maritime special radio operator license or higher is required for use. To utilize the DSC function, a second-class maritime special radio operator license or higher is necessary. The main feature is that it includes a simplified AIS receiver. This is the first time a portable international VHF transceiver has been equipped with a simplified AIS reception function. Being portable, it allows you to constantly check information about other vessels navigating nearby (such as vessel name, position, speed, course, length, width, etc.) at your fingertips. By monitoring the movements of other vessels on the screen, you can prevent accidents in dark or poor visibility maritime areas. You can select other vessels on the screen using the target function and also make individual calls to other vessels using the DSC function. Since it is equipped with CLASS H compatible DSC functionality, in case of distress, you can automatically send a distress signal to nearby ship stations and coast stations from the DISTRESS button on the back. Note that a second-class maritime special radio operator license or higher is required to use the DSC function.

It has an IPX8 waterproof rating, meaning it can be submerged continuously (up to 1.5m for 30 minutes) without water entering the interior. Using a lithium-ion battery FNB-115LIIS, it provides approximately 17 hours of standard usage. With the charger CD-50 and the AC adapter PA-456 connected to the charger SAD-1460, it can be rapidly charged in about 3 hours.
